March 14th, 2009 admin
Hollywood star and comedy actor Robin Williams had to cancel his one-man show tour “Weapons of Self-Destruction†because of serious heart surgery. The actor now has to have surgery for an aortic valve replacement.
Robin Williams said in a statement released by his representatives
”I’m so touched by everyone’s support and well wishes. This tour has been amazing fun and I can’t wait to get back out on the road after a little tune-up.”
The 57 years old actor was admitted to a Miami hospital on Monday for shortness of breath. He remains hospitalized, but it is unclear whether he will have the surgery here. Williams boarded on his 80-city tour in September, his first in six years. However, the organizers are expecting to reschedule the cancelled dates or ticket-holders can obtain refunds at point of purchase.
Two years ago, Williams’s elder brother, Robert Todd Williams, died of complications from heart surgery at age 69.
